Mothers Day… A mother is a person who seeing there are only four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces she never did care for pie. ~Tenneva Jordan
Thursday, May 8th, 2008Finally it is May… now we just need some May like weather!
Just the other day, I was at the center and a new mommy was in the front lobby. I found her ever so softly crying and holding her infant son so tightly. I asked her “what‘s wrong?” She said to me in a broken voice… “It’s his first day and I just can’t bring myself to go, I know he will be safe but my heart hurts so badly” she said this with big tears flowing down her cheek. Immediately a lump gathered in my throat and tears welled up in my eyes, I knew the sadness she was feeling was real and no matter what anyone said or did her heart would just feel broken. Now the business owner in me certainly could have told her it would be fine and she could to go to work. But the Mommy in me told her “just stay….stay with us as long as you can… Everything you have at work will wait and we just need more time to ease into this”. We visited in the hall and before we knew it 2 hours had passed! Leaving our children for a few hours is a big deal!!! I get it… no offence Dad’s, I am not leaving you out as we know Daddy’s feel the same way, but I think we all can agree that mommy’s are just more emotional when it comes to this. Right??!!
Just recently our 18 year old daughter went away for a 2 day college visit and I still felt the same way… sad, worried, and missing her more then she will ever know, so it never gets easier as a Mom… We are loyal to our children and our place on earth is to be there for our babies’ whether they are 18 years old or 18 days old we just have that bond that IS NEVER BROKEN no matter what the situation.
A mother is the safe harbor for the child and the love we hold in our hearts for our children is larger than life itself… so on this Mothers Day be proud of the Mommy you are, You are a wonderful mom who never gives up on your children, you believe in them unconditionally and you vow to protect them from any one or thing that will hurt them for as long as you live… you are to be celebrated… you are amazing and you are loved!
Happy Mother’s Day to all the Anna’s Bananas Mommy’s… now treat yourselves to something wonderful!
Looking forward to some sunshine… Mrs.Anna “Before you were conceived I wanted you, before you were born I loved you, before you were here an hour I would die for you, this is the miracle of life.”
