Curriculum
Small introduction:
My name is Babett Larimer. Some of you know me, as I have been teaching Preschool classes at Anna's Bananas for the past 8 years. I took a few months off, to be with my family, but I am back and excited to be the new Curriculum Coordinator for our brand-new and beautiful daycare center!
I have a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education and Child Development, and have worked with children of different ages since 1992. My husband and I, along with our two children, Chloe (8) and Ayden (6) live in Hastings.
Exciting New Concepts for All Classrooms
Starting on March 23rd, along with the opening of our new Daycare center, we are excited to continue our structured learning program by adding fresh ideas and new approaches! You will see the schedule being sent home with your child every Friday!
Among proven teaching strategies, and established learning programs from our past, we will now incorporate sign language for all ages, and foreign language exposure for children 3 years and older, featuring German, Spanish and Japanese!
By offering daily fun and hands-on math, science, reading or writing activities to our preschoolers - we are confident in their skills, and readiness for their future Kindergarten journey!
Extending their learning time into the afternoon, we will challenge and enrich our Kindergarteners with interactive math, writing, reading and art activities, and continue to provide a social and playful environment that builds friendships, and encourages interpersonal skills!
Our littlest ones will continue to thrive in a loving and nurturing environment with all the comforts of home, and the attention of our devoted staff! We will add lots of sensory exposure and stimulation, along with songs and nursery rhymes, sign language and shelves full of new toys ready for exploration!
We are thrilled about our new Art Studio! All of our children will greatly benefit from this room, as it allows them to express all creative outbursts, while at the same time, keeping the "messes" out of the classrooms! The can paint, glue, and craft to their heart's content - and with my own passion for arts and crafts - I am excited to create projects that will expose them to all sorts of materials and techniques!
Utilizing accredited resources, paired with our skilled teaching staff, and my 12+ years of experience in working with young children, you can be assured your child will be part of a wonderful, well-rounded educational program!
